Project Overview

As part of my startup called Our Stories, we created the interactive story called "The tiny tin soldier" for the iPad. The story is based on the classic fairy tale "The steadfast tin soldier" by Hans Christian Andersen. It is written in rhymes in German, English and Italian.

To create this interactive story, I established a multi-disciplinary team composed of an iOS developer, an artist, a composer and 3 writers.

Storyboarding

Our adaption of the classic fairy-tale by Hans-Christian Andersen is a story that is told in24 beautifully illustrated scenes by our illustrator Viktoriya Anapolska. The initial development stage was the creation of a detailed storyboard that contained proposals for animation and interaction. It was Viktoriya and I that worked on this project at this early stage.

Story development kick-off

In the second stage, we were joined by our iOS developer Stanislav Kimov and our writer Roland Schlegl. This allowed us to create a framework for the story and to refine the script of our fairy-tale. The first scenes were drawn to test our framework and to start with the creation of animations and interactive elements.
